Have you done a database reindex lately ??

I've found that reindexing the database does tend to fix alot of 'mislabeling' issues.

thank you; but, it didn't fix the problem

Before I reindexed the database, I found out I use two different description in one account no. which shared by two funds.

for e.g. 01-5560-000 Misc. and 02-5560-000 Repairs

after I changed the description, one line was fixed.

Now I still don't know why the sub-total didn't come up even after I reindexed the whole database!

If the system didn't allow me to have different name that the 1st problem would never there! Since the account number could be shared by different funds, why it is allowed to be changed in other funds. In the beginning, the person who set up the chart of account. Use the same account number for different funds for different purpose.

Like 01-1100-000 Wachovia Bank account for General Fund and 02-1100-000 Compass Bank account for Love Fund. It took me many hours but I still couldn't solve the problem! I don't know whether I should give up and buy another software like Peachtree or Quicken.

Anyway, Thank you so much for your suggestion which I learn to use the reindex function!

PowerChurch Plus versions prior to v9 would allow you to set up accounts with the same major account number (the last seven digits) in different funds with different descriptions. In running a consolidated report, though, you would see what you are experiencing, the software "picking" one of the account descriptions and totalling everything into it.

Version 9 and now 10 polices this practice a little more, forcing you to use a different account number if the account is actually meant to track something different.

There is a good discussion and explanation of this behavior in a document in our Knowledge Base. Again, it is geared to version 9 & 10 customers who have seen their account descriptions changed during conversion from a previous version.
