combining mortgages

Post by GCCFDL »

There is a mortgage on the church building. When we added an addition we took a second mortgage and had a building program so the mortgages were seperate in powerchurch. Now that the building program is complete and now the mortgages are together at the bank we would like to combine the mortgages in powerchurch. What is the best way to do this? Thank You

If I understand your question correctly you had two separate mortgages at one time but now they have been consolidated into one mortgage. However, you still have the mortgages recorded in two separate accounts in PC+. If this is the case all you need to do to combine them is debit the liability account for the mortgage that no longer is separate to zero out the account and then credit the liabilty account that holds the balance for the consolidated mortgage for this amount.
