Fund accounting

Post by RivertonCC »

I have confused myself.
We had a Special Offering for a minionary.
I created a Contribution Fund 500 - name it HoSay; debit 01-1110-000 Checking; Credit 4040-000 Designated Offering
This 500 fund has a balance of $1576. That I used to pay said minionary online. What transaction do I make to pull this $11576 out of this 500 fund?

Um .. you do not pull funds from a Contribution Fund. That is for contributions only. If you didn't create it in Fund Accounting as a Donor Restriction, then all you can do is write a check for $1576 from Accounts Payable. The amount that shows in Contributions is the total for the year, and will reset at the end of the year.

So ... do you still have an issue? If so, please show the exact way you paid out the funds. The designated offering income looks like it probably closes to the standard 3110-000 unrestricted net assets fund balance account.

If so ... you don't have any separate account in Fund Accounting to move funds from.
