Networked: End of Period question

Post by Frank Henderson »

I just networked our new second computer with the original one by mapping the hard drive and all seems to work well...except for one little item. My cohort, using the serer, had finished his checkwriting and other end of month activities and then changed to the new month of May. In the meantime, I was entering the contributions on the client computer and, attempting to post them, noticed that it still said that it was in April instead of May. Did something here go awry? I did do the change on the client and all seems okay. I was just surprised to see that the change of month didn't "take" on the second computer.

Close PowerChurch on the client, then reopen it. Then, check the current month at the bottom of the Accounting Menu. If it's not the same as what's displayed on the server, then you may have a problem. Otherwise, I think you're ok. It just sounds like the month was closed in between the time your client checked the current month and the time you posted.
