resetting accounting?

Post by SScheuermann »

I am the new bookkeeper at our church. Previously PC+ was set up and some entries made, including beginning balances. They never really got the program to work. I would like to delete several accounts that we will not be using. These accounts have beginning balances. It seems that once made these beginning balances are posted, they can not be deleted. I am thinking that the only way to delete these unwanted accounts is to reset accounting. If I were to do this and set up accounting again, then save to a disk, will I still be able to revert back to the current set up by restoring to the old data?

While I am making changes that I want to take affect in 2008, I still need to work in 2007!

Thanks
Scott

Restarting accounting wipes out just about everything in the Fund Accounting module. If you're just wanting to delete the transactions but want to keep your chart of accounts intact recommend that you use the delete old data function in Fund Accounting.
