I need some advise and encouragement on the efiling options. I am not the most avid (actually on the opposite end) software/computer/technology person and new online options scare me and the IRS double dog scares me. I know I should get the church to the most up to date methods of filing BUT I have continued to do the old fashioned paper filing process. However, I have received a letter from the IRS stating we are required by law to file electronically for calendar year 2025. I have PC 12, I know I can (and have) enrolled on powerchurch.nelcoportal.com, is there someone that is willing to assist me in the beginning to get me started? The church is willing to pay for support, where do you recommend I start?

If you're talking about W-2's and you don't have a huge number to file, you can fill and file them online at no charge. You will need to have a login.gov account which is simple. Just go to https://secure.login.gov/ and create and account. From there you can do a number of things with the government stuff. For W-2's you'll need a login to BSO (Business Services Online) which is not difficult. I'm not sure what their process is today since I have been doing this for years, but they may need to verify info and then contact you when they have approved the account creation. Their URL is https://www.ssa.gov/bso/bsowelcome.htm. That will allow you to do the W-2 stuff.
All that being said, if you have a large number of W-2's (they allow up to 50 per W-3), this is probably not a good choice, especially since you have to enter the info by hand.
If you are interested, I could maybe walk you through this. You can contact me via email. No charge for anything.

Maybe this is a good place to ask a tax question about Form 1099-NEC.I have a contractor who notified me about 2 1/2 weeks after I e-filed the 1009-nec that her address changed. I cannot e-file a corrected form. Any suggestion on how to handle this?

Frankly, the best place to find out how to correct this is the IRS itself, but what I've found out is that it says you need to resubmit using the same way you filed electronically.bjwhitson wrote: ↑Thu Jan 30, 2025 5:57 pmMaybe this is a good place to ask a tax question about Form 1099-NEC.I have a contractor who notified me about 2 1/2 weeks after I e-filed the 1009-nec that her address changed. It sounds like you can't do that for some reason. Did you check the help on the nelcoportal page??
