I think I emailed you with my idea. Since the number turned out the same after the restart, my suggestion is to accept the reconcile as is, then see what falls out after the May bank statement arrives.
I didn't get an email. Do you think I should contact PowerChurch about this?
Not sure they can help. Try going a month and then see what happens. This will clear out most (all??) of the old checks as you should not be using them any longer.

I spoke with Thomas from PowerChurch. He stated that the beginning balance was entered incorrectly. I entered the balance off of the statement, and not the book balance. He had me adjust the beginning balance and now I'm only off my $3.03.

I did. Then you told me that was incorrect and that I needed to enter the statement balance.

I just checked the thread, I had asked about where you got the starting balance back on page 2, but didn't get a reply. Since you were off that much from the book balance, I could only assume that it was off, and using the bank account would have been more correct.

Oy .. I do apologize for all that extra work.

It's ok. I am still stuck. I just went though it and I am $164.20 to balance. I never knew this would be this hard. This is insane. Any ideas? I've gone through the bank statement three times, checked each debit, check, and deposit. Everything is there.

It is saying that the bank has $164.20 more than PowerChurch does.

OK ... for that amount of money .. its worth accepting it as it is, and waiting for next month's bank statement.

If you still show the same amount next month, then you'll accept it, and enter a transaction to add 164.20 as a DB to Checking and a CR to Unrestricted Net Assets.

Waiting another month may cause a check or debit to show up that hasn't cleared yet. Remember, you had checks written from December clearing in April's bank statement. There may be a check or a debit that slipped through the cracks and didn't get reported or entered in the check register.

Stranger things have happened. This is a much more manageable amount than what you were contending with last night.

Ok. I pulled the last reconciliation report which was from 03/31/2017 and it balanced fine. I am going through all of the receipts that I have received so far too. I am obsessed with getting this to 0.00

Heheheh ... I was the same way ... if you don't find it ... rest easy. As long as the bank says you have MORE than you think you do, its OK :)
