Voided and re-written check now negative Checking balance

Setup
Fund 01 - General Church Fund
Fund 02 - Children's Fund
Fund 03 - Youth Fund

Not all the money came in for camp registrations from fund 02 so we we decided to pay for the remaining balance out of the General Benevolence account in Fund 01 even though we had already written the check. The Kids Camp Registration was setup as a liability account in 02. Support told me to void the original check and then do a new check with the amounts coming out of the correct funds and accounts. After doing that I am now coming up with negative checking account balances for fund 02 on both my Balance sheet and Account Activity Report. In the Account Activity report I have my original balance 71.95 that was transferred into the account, two credits for 800 (the amount that went to camp), and one debit for 800. This puts me at a -728.05 balance. Did support tell me the wrong way to do this or did I just do it incorrectly? :wall:

HELP!

Can you provide all of the debit and credit postings that were done in this situation, starting with the one done to setup the Kids Camp Registration as a liability in Fund 02?

I'm so sorry I didn't get back sooner, my normal job has been keeping me extremely busy and I didn't get an email that you had replied. I got a moment to call support today and she showed me the Trial Balance report and I that showed me how far off I was. So here's what I found out. I had several of my contribution accounts posting to the income and liability accounts of the correct funds (02 and 03) but posting to the 01 Checking account. Yeah totally didn't notice this and is probably why reconciliation is so important. But any ways damage is done and now I could use a little help on the best way to fix it. There's probably less than twenty transactions that need fixing but should I reverse the contributions in Fund Accounting and then repost with the corrections since I've now corrected the Checking accounts on all contribution accounts or will that not work?

Also on the reversed transaction can I modify it to correct it before I post since I could match everything up fairly easily in there?

Thanks and again sorry for the delay, I've now clicked the Notify box.

Correct, the easiest way is to reverse the existing transactions, and then re-enter in Funds Accounting using the correct 02 and 03 checking accounts.

Since you've adjusted the checking accounts in Contribution Fund Setup it sounds like you should be good to go from here.

:D My trial balance report shows 0.00 in all my totals for all my funds! I feel much better. I have another question but I'll post separately since it has nothing to do with this topic. Thanks for the help, I think I backup up about 5 times tonight just in case.
