We recently acquired PC, however we need to enter 8 mths of prior period data, which includes AP checks, payroll, journal entries and contributions.
1. Can someone advise me on what is the easiest method to input historical data expeditiously. If possible please provide insight based by module. (IE. accounts payable, payroll, contributions).
2. Secondly, when posting Contributions and/or Acct Pyble to Fund Acctg, Can you randomly select specific transactions to post to Fund Acctg or does PC automatically post to all unposted transactions?
I greatly appreciate assistance.

Re: Inputting historical data
1. If you have to enter it manually, it depends on how much activity you wish to enter. If you have more than 50 or 60 checks per month, it will take you awhile. It may be worth not entering historic AP if that is the case. If you have a dozen or two, it may be worth doing.
Contributions will take you about 10 to 20 minutes per contribution, once you get the hang of it.
Payroll will take 5-10 minutes per payroll, once everything is setup.
Account balances can be entered through the setup wizard.
2. PowerChurch is not setup to "easily" do selective postings. I suppose it can be done, but it would be complicated to explain how. Generally, you post the entire month-at-a-time.

Not exactly true John ... you can select which weeks you want to post in Contributions, as well as which checks you want to post from AP. You do not have to post all at once. You would have to select the 'ADVANCED' button when posting to select or unselect the transactions you do not want to post and move over to Funds Accounting.JohnDMeyers wrote:=
