Restore Selected Data in Accounts Payable

Just today my PowerChurch somehow crashed. The last update I can find was done yesterday - which is GREAT! ... but when I restore the entire backup --- all my accounts payable history is gone.
The last backup I did was 2 weeks ago - so I would have to input all my invoices and chqs all over again.
I am unsure when I restore "selected" which AP date I actually choose (in the restore selected screen) to get the data from yesterday - but include the history of Accounts Payable.

If you did a backup from yesterday, a FULL POWERCHURCH backup, everything in the database would have been copied. A FULL restore would have replaced everything that was backed up.

If you used a backup program that backs up the entire drive, you could have a problem.

What type of backup are you looking at ??

Unfortunatley I only did a FULL backup 2 weeks ago (monthend). And then one again today... but the one from today seems to be the one that lost all the AP information.

HOWEVER 8) ... Our entire Network backs up automatically everyday (which I just remembered) --- so I restored the ENTIRE version of PowerChurch from 7.00am this morning. Everything looks good! :)

The only thing now is to restore JUST the Membership data that I backed up at 2.30 today --- b/c there were a bunch of changes made there today ....

I think the problem happened when I backed the system up --- someone was stuck in it from yesterday and wasn't in the office today so they were still logged in.

I am a happy camper now! :)

Moral of the story: Do a full backup daily, even more than once a day if a lot of data is being input. The backup takes just seconds and uses up very little disk space.

That could be a problem, especially if they are in the module you're trying to recover. Another moral to the story: everyone should LOG OFF at the end of the day, not just let it go to screen saver lockup/
