Amounts included on the W2
We have a decent amount of people on staff and some have an extra paycheck included on their W2. Is there any way to see which checks were contributed to this year's income? I need to know if the mistake was made at the first of the year or the end of 2013. Thanks in advance!!

If you're using v11.1 or 11.5, you can look at the salary history of each employee in Payroll.cOdY wrote:We have a decent amount of people on staff and some have an extra paycheck included on their W2. Basically, if the check date was in 2013, it was included in the income total.

I've done this, but all the totals are still a paycheck over what they should be. Could voided checks be a factor in this?
Re: Amounts included on the W2
A voided check, if not done through Payroll, would definitely affect what is shown on the W-2.cOdY wrote:NeilZ wrote:If you're using v11.1 or 11.5, you can look at the salary history of each employee in Payroll.cOdY wrote:We have a decent amount of people on staff and some have an extra paycheck included on their W2. Re: Amounts included on the W2
Thanks for the replies!! Another question, we gave bonuses for Christmas to a the employees, and I did them through payables. Do I need to void them out and run them through payroll for the W2? And some bonuses were given to people who help out with the church but aren't on payroll. Can I just leave those on the payables module?
Re: Amounts included on the W2
1. As far as employee bonuses, yes, they should have been done through payroll. You should void them and run them though payroll, but when you get to the screen prior to printing, select manual check and enter the check number there.cOdY wrote:Thanks for the replies!! 2. As long as the non-employee bonus/gift was under $600.00 you should be fine, otherwise you may have to look at 1099-MISC .. you should check the requirements for needing a 1099 at the IRS.GOV site.

Re: Amounts included on the W2
We have 18 past/present employees receiving a W2 this year. How do I select on person for reprint? As of now I will have to reprint all 18 to fix just one mistake. Thanks!!
Re: Amounts included on the W2
Again, if you're using v11.x, you can go into the W-2 module, select the radio button for regenerate W2 data, then the next screen will list all the employees. Uncheck them all, then check the one you want to reprint. It will regenerate the data, and if you edited the previous W-2 to add data in one of the boxes (like box 14) you will have to enter it again.cOdY wrote:We have 18 past/present employees receiving a W-2 this year. Just don't reprint the W-3 .. just do the W-2.
