Restarted Accounting - What About Contribution Deposits

Post by covered »

Question
I am new to this and I never had the proper training, I am picking up from another persons spot. We started the accounting system over( putting in account balances etc.) My question is when in putting things from the bank statement, am I suppose to in put things from the contribution module? I see where when things were posted in the contribution module they didn't send it to fund accounting.
-also by them not doing so will this make my balances be off?

I'm going to assume that you're using a bank statement with a cutoff date of March 31st.

If you've restarted accounting, and you're entering starting balances as of March 31st, all previous Contributions will probably have been deposited, and are accounted for in that starting balance. There is no need to post anything prior to March 31st from Contributions as long as the deposit for March 30th is included on the bank statement.

If there are Contribution deposits that have been made in April, but the Contribution entries for the month were posted only to Contributions, and not to Funds Accounting, then you're going to have to manually enter those deposits. In future, you would need to make sure that Contributions are posted to Funds Accounting.

Does this help?
