We received a contribution to help finish our parking lot. The funds for that project were collected long before we began using this program and are in a savings acct at our bank. We have these funds set aside in an equity fund in this program and when we use them we will transfer those funds to checking and expense to maintenance. We want to put this contribution directly into the savings acct and hold for the time we do our parking lot.
How do I enter this contribution. I don't have a contribution fund set up for this type of contribution.

Re: contribution into savings acct
You definitely want to credit the contribution somehow. That said, the easiest thing to do is to just issue a letter to the person thanking him for the donation, the amount, and a statement that this letter will serve as the contribution statement for tax purposes.Sandy wrote:We received a contribution to help finish our parking lot. Then enter the deposit to savings through Funds Accounting.
