Budget

Hi!

There are a few areas in the budget template that we don't use. Is there any way that we can delete them so it is not confusing people and wasting paper? Ex: under Administrative Expenses, Advertising. We don't use any of them, so there is no reason for us have them on the budget. Another is Vehicles, we don't have any of those. There are a few others that we don't use and would really like to remove them. Any suggestions?

Are you referring to the Budget Worksheet for calculating next year's budget?

or are you referring to the Budget report that incorporates the income and expense statement information?

The latter allows you exclude accounts with zero budgets. The former does not.

To add to what John said, what you are seeing are accounts you have listed in your Chart of Accounts, its not a Template. If you have these accounts listed in the Chart of Accounts, you can delete them if they have never been used in the past.

These are accounts under the default Chart of Accounts, if you're not using them, you can delete them using the Maintain Chart of Accounts function. The F1 help key will have all the instructions you need.

Instead of deleting them, you can mark them as inactive. If you go to a line item under maintain chart of accounts, click on details and in the upper right hand corner of the popup is a box labeled active. Uncheck it and it should go away on all reports. Then if you ever need it you can just check it to make it show up again.
