Different checking account for each Fund Account

Post by HP@SAC »

When I set up the other fund accounts can I make the checking accounts as follows, or do the 4 middle numbers have to be different?
General Fund 01-1110-000
Community Care Fund 02-1110-100
Capital Fund 03-1110-300
Missions Fund 04-1110-400
Thanks,
Heidi

If these are different accounts at the bank, you would need to have different middle four digits for each account.

My situation is just a little different. We recently closed two accounts at a different bank. These accounts were used to track our building fund income and expenses. The bank balances were so low that we moved the remaining monies to other existing accounts. So if I use the middle four numbers from the remaining account, but a different fund number will that allow me to see the current balance in just the building fund?

In other words, what is the best way to track the remaining dollars in the building fund since the funds are comingled with other church funds in the bank account?

Yes, if you have not already done so, add the account that the money was moved to in the Building Fund. Then you will be able to see just the BF balance in that account when running reports specifically for that fund.

When you enter that transaction, just credit the old/closed bank account and debit the one you moved the money into (both in the Building Fund)
