New Checking/Savings Accounts

So we just opened a new checking account and a new savings account, the old checking account still has a balance, but will be closed in approx 2 weeks. Money was transferred from the old checking account into both new accounts when they were opened.

Can somone please give me a general idea of how to represent this in powerchurch?

I assume I just create 2 new accounts, a checking and savings. Then transfer money from one to the other, and when we close the old checking account, deactivate it.

We do everything within 1 General Fund.

I would love to see a tutorial if one exists on such a topic, but they are hard to find.

Thanks.

I'm fairly sure, you have that correct. In addition you have to reconcile all the outstanding checks in the old account, so I wouldn't move any money out of the checking account until that is done. What I would do is all new contributions and deposits go in to the new checking account, but until all the outstanding transactions are cleared (one way or another) from the old account, I would not close or move money.
