voiding really old checks

Post by gospeltab »

Hi,

We are running version 11.55. I just saw the post about keeping working months open for 18 months. Up until I viewed that, I thought we could only keep 6 months open at a time. All of our months have been closed through December 2014.

I am trying to clean up some of the accounts. Our benevolence account has nine checks that have not cleared that were written in 2006, 2008, and 2012. I am afraid if I try to void them they will "disappear" since the years they were written in have been closed.

What is the most accurate way to get rid of these items?

Thanks!

If you void them, they will 'disappear' in the sense that they may not be seen in reconciliations in future, but you're going to post the voids in the current month. Just include as much documentation as possible in the description block.
