Releasing, then later deleting a repeating item?

Post by Husky44 »

What would be the impacts of releasing a repeating item in the A/P module, then deleting the item before printing checks?

I'm still trying to come up with a way to get upcoming payroll to display in the Cash Management Report. If I created a repeating item called "Weekly Payroll" and released it, that would roll up the amount of the next payroll cycle in "Total Unposted printed/manual checks" on my Cash Management Report, which would get the Adjusted Balance on the report to reflect our true cash position looking forward.

My plan would be to then somehow delete the unposted transaction from the A/P module before I run the payroll cycle that it replicates.

Is this possible? What are the implications/issues with doing this?

As I stated in previous post about Cash Management Report, I am trying to create a report that allows the Pastor to see what our current cash situation is, along with upcoming obligations, so as to have a quick view of how well we are going to be able to pay our bills in the short term. If there's a better way to do this, I'm open to all suggestions, but so far the Cash Management Report seems to be the best solution, with the glaring exception that there is no easy way to reflect pending payroll cycles.

Thanks,
Greg

Again, Powerchurch is cash based, not accrual so the only way you can do what you want, is do what you list above. You can delete the manual check (which I what I would use) from AP and it would not hurt anything since it has not been posted anywhere. The only issue would be having to remember to delete that transaction before you post.
