Percent determination in payroll items
I am trying to set up both withholding and matching funds for 403(b) participants and am having some trouble getting the percentages to work properly. How are the income items used to calculate the percentage to withhold or match determined. I have tried several things with no success and am unable to figure out what why some income items are calculated and others are not. For example I have an item type of 'other deduction'. When I click on the line a window opens with the item no., description, then Amount/Percent. When I select percent and enter a percentage here I can not figure out how it determines what income items to calculate that percentage on. It does some and not others. I know I can put the amounts I want in directly, but it would be nice if the percent calculation would give me what I need. I am using PCPlus 11.55.

Re: Percent determination in payroll items
I think I figured out how this works. The percentage only calculates on items marked as Federal Income taxable, which does not work for 403(b) calculations if you have a housing allowance which is not taxable under Federal Income Tax. Will add a request to the wish list to have this choice able to select by item number which income items are to be calculated when percentage is selected.
