Year End Question

Post by northside »

When I close the year end, I need our church renovations accounts to not $0.00 out since we are carrying over the money given this year into next year as we finish our renovations. How do I do this? Also, can I enter transactions into January without messing anything up on the accounts before I close the year?

What version of Powerchurch are you using? In versions 9 and up you no longer 'close a year'. You can have multiple years of information accessible, as well as 18 months of access to previous data that you can still update.

As far as your church renovation accounts, I'm going to assume that you have these funds setup as Temporarily Restricted Funds. These accounts do not zero out.

That said, without more data, its impossible to give you any further assistance. If you could tell us exactly what these accounts are? Income, Expense, Liability, Assets ??

I have version 11.5. It is in a temporary restricted funds. How do the rest of the my accounts return to zero for the beginning of the year and my budget amounts start in 2017. I have put in the 2017 budget amounts already. Do I need to do anything before I start printing checks and payroll in 2017? I have updated my tax tables. Thanks so much for your help.

I'm fairly sure all you need to do is change the month to January 2017, the system will do the rest. Since you entered your 2017 budget, it will be there waiting for you :)
