w2 and housing

Information printing correctly on Payroll Item Summary but not on w2. Maintain item description is set up as Income, non taxable because this pastor opted out of ss years ago. Housing amount shows on payroll item summary but not w2. I know I can correct the w2 but still would like to know why the information is not reported on the w2. Thank you for any help.

I'm assuming v11.55, if you have the Item Description tax option set as Housing Allowance, it should automatically print in Box 14. If you have to tax Housing Allowance for state or local income tax, you should have the tax option selected to More Options this opens a few checkboxes, one of which says Housing Allowance. You should check all the applicable tax types in the selection window that appears, along with that checkbox next to Housing Allowance, again it will then print in Box 14.

From what you said, I'm going assume that you do not have it setup as Housing Allowance, but as non-taxable. Set it to Housing Allowance.
