Payroll Setup

Post by morningsideumc »

Originally I had everybody set up in two categories: Current Employees and Former Employees. Everybody was paid weekly. Then our new Pastor came in, paid bi-weekly and our security person was added who is paid monthly. Like a dummy I set up two new categories, Current Employees II and Current Employees III. For reasons known only to Power Church, everyone showed up in Current Employees II and Current Employees is gone, gone, gone. Aaaarrggh. Power Church will not let me change II back to Current, won't let me delete it and start over. I just want to put everyone back into a single Current Employees category and choose which ones I'll pay. Help!!

Here's the last bit of advice I gave there:
OK ... if you can't RENAME the group (remember, all you need to do is put your cursor in the DESCRIPTION block and click, the block will turn blue, now delete the current name using your DELETE key, entering a new name, then hitting the save button), then there's not much that can be done via the forum, and you'll have to call tech support.
FWIW .. you can't delete a group if there are people assigned to it. You SHOULD be able to rename an existing group.

However ...

I think I mentioned previously, CREATE three new groups:

Weekly Employees, BiWeekly Employees, Monthly Employees.

Move people to the correct groups. Then you should be able to delete the erroneously named groups as there shouldn't be anyone assigned to them.

Thank you, Neil. The system never would let me change the descriptions for some reason. I finally had to create 3 new categories. Kind of a pain but it worked...
