Void Week Contribution

Post by ngaham »

Hi,
As I went to reconsile today, I've not that I have entered my first contributions deposit wrong. I need to void it, and re-enter them all. It has been posted to funds accounting. If I just reverse the transaction, will that take care of the contributions side?

In one word .. NOPE.

You have to go through each and every one that was posted in Contributions and REVERSE them.

That said, why do you have to reverse that transaction along with the entered Contributions? Were they entered to the wrong Contribution Funds?? For example, they were all supposed to go to tithes & offerings, but were entered in Building Fund instead??

Could it be something as simple as putting the wrong Funds Accounting income account or checking account on the Contribution Fund.

A bit more detail would allow a better answer that may save you a LOT of time.

I am at a loss. I went to reconsile today and it is showing $5435.91 to balance. I can't figure it out for the life of me. I thought it may be in a deposit, but I don't know. Any help would be apprecaited.

Uncheck the box at the top of the Reconcile window so that all transactions of all dates are shown. What may have been deposited at the bank on say April 29th and shows up on the statement dated the 30th, but the contribution was finally posted on May 1st in Powerchurch , so it may not be showing up in the list as its after the end date of the statement.

It's my first reconsile in PowerChurch or ever. So it's both confusing and irritating.

So, the bank says that you have more money than you see in Powerchurch after checking off all the deposits??

Try unchecking that box. Re-entering Contributions isn't going to fix a thing.

The big thing is ONLY check off deposits and checks that you see on the bank statement. Clear the "C" from all the deposits. Then go through each deposit on the statement, and match it to the bank statement, then write a checkmark next to the deposit on the statement.

PowerChurch is saying we have more than the bank. I'm ensured the starting balance and went through every transaction on the statement. Could a transfer transaction causes this? Maybe when I did the setup, I messed up there.

On the top, I see transactions for starting balances and those are not on the statement.

If you clear that does that correct the issue?

No. I've tried clearing everything just to see and it doesn't work.

When I clear everything (not included uncleared checks on the bottom of the screen) it says that $5435.91 to balance.
