Adding a fund account.
We have made a purchase from our transportation fund. But I don't have an entry number for that, how do I add a number for purchases to the fund account. Thank You.

OK .. you're going to have to be more precise. Are you talking about adding an EXPENSE account, because that's what it sounds like.Patricia wrote:We have made a purchase from our transportation fund. You would use the Maintain Chart of Accounts function under Fund Accounting. The process is very easy, you just need to decide where you would like the account to appear in the numbering scheme. You have to remember that the xx-NNNN- numbers listed as NNNN can be assigned to all Fund Accounts (IE: 01-1110-000 is checking in Fund 01, 03-1110-000 is the shared checking in Fund 03)>
The built-in help is very handy (Press F1 when you have the Maintain Chart of Accounts window open), as is the PDF version of the manual which can be found under the x:\Powerchurch\PCPLUSnnn (where x is the drive, and nnn is the version) directory.

Re: Adding a fund account.
Sorry, someone else set everything up originally and I am just trying to muddle through! I went to chart of accounts, I checked "transportation"
for account number I put 5009=004 (as I have other expense funds 5009-001 002 and 003) I then put under description "EXPENSE" when I clecked '"save" it said, account number cannot be changed to a different account category range.

OK .. again, take another look at the account number, its actually 5009-000, the prefix is the fund number once its assigned to a fund (IE: 01-5009-000). When you look at the Chart of Accounts, you can click the LOCATE button and then search to find the 5009-000 account. When you find it, select it. On that window you will see an area with a grid. It will list all the funds that the account is assigned to. Based on what you said, you will see the Funds 01, 02, and 03 listed.Patricia wrote:Sorry, someone else set everything up originally and I am just trying to muddle through! You want to add this to Fund 04, so there is a button under that grid that says Add Acct To Fund all you need to do is click on the button, then select the Fund from the list that pops up. Once you do that and select FINISH the account will be added to the 04 fund.
