This about deductions from Pastor's salary.

The Pastor's gross salary is $27,158.00
I deduct the following from his salary: Pastor's Contribution to Health Ins. 1,551.84
Flexible Spending Acct 2,650.00
UMPIP Contribution 1,130.00

In the chart of accounts do I set these deductions up as expenses under a separated heading such as Pastor's Salary Deductions. The finance committee wants me to show what is deducted from the pastor's salary. These deductions are deducted from the pastor's gross salary.

Thank you for your help.

These are the pastor's contributions, they are not expenses (which are costs to the CHURHC) they are LIABILITIES as you are obligated to pay these out. You deduct this from his paycheck using a Other Deduction Item Description linked to liability accounts.

You can show what is deducted from the pastor's salary by using one of the Payroll reports.
