2017 Payroll check reissue

Powerchurch Plus V 11.1. Windows 10
I found that a former church employee did not cash a small payroll check from Sept 2017. Yesterday he told me it was shred, thinking it was out of date. He asked me to reissue the check but I'm a little concerned how to do it to make sure it appears in 2017 for his W2's and not 2018. Will Powerchurch allow me to back date? Any concerns for me?
Thank you!

OK ... since this check will be a reissue it should not be much of a problem. I know that in 11.55 and in 12.0 you can VOID the payroll check from the Maintain List of Employees. I forget if 11.1 allows this, if not then what I put here is a non-starter.
1. Go find the paycheck in question for the employe in the Check History of the employee's Maintain List of Employees record.
2. Highlight that check, then click on the
X icon next to the printer icon just under the list of checks.
3. It will ask you if you're going to reissue the check, and what is the check number. Enter Dec 31 2017 as the date, you have the options to print the check, or enter as Manual Check. When you post to Funds Accounting it will enter the Posting Date as Dec 31 2017, so this keeps the salary in 2017. I'd print the check, as it will then ask you for the next number in the series.
Does this help?
