I am new to PowerChurch. I mistakenly posted Jan 1 payroll checks to December. Payroll items need to go in January. Do I reverse in December and then re-post in January using Fund Accounting-posting transactions? Thanks SO much!

First off, are you sure they posted to December. If there were dated January 1, 2018, the system should not post to December. If they were dated in December, this is the reason they posted to December.

Not knowing what version you're using, I'm going to assume at least 11.1. Its easier to void the check through Payroll, then reissue using the same number when asked.

This way all the accounts will be properly adjusted without you having to worry about missing something.

yes, they were posted in December. I predated the checks and forgot to change the posting month. We are using version 10.4...what do I do?

I'd also check to see if the salary got posted and is showing up on the W2 for 2017.

I forget if version 10 has such a capability to void the check from Payroll. That would be the best choice as it would also make sure that the payroll tables are properly updated.

If you can, check the built-in user's guide to see if it has that capability, I no longer have access to any 10.4 information to check that.
