Adding a Subtotal to a Balance Sheet

I am trying to add a subtotal to a Balance Sheet. I'm told to access the Report Designer menu to do this, but I can't find it. Where do I find the report designer menu? I'm a Windows 8 user on Powerchurch 12.

Are you talking about the standard Balance Sheet report that's built into Powerchurch. That cannot be changed through Custom Reports.
You would have to create a Custom Report from scratch. The Custom Report writer if found from the Accounting -> Fund Accounting -> Other Output menu item.

Where are you trying to put a subtotal on? Assets, Liabilities ?? In reality you can do that by adding a GROUP to the Chart of Accounts setting the Report Level at 3 or 4.
