Opening Balances

Hi,
I wonder, is there a way to input the opening balances for the departments in the new year, without having it show up as an income on the statements?

What opening balances are you talking about?? Trying to understand how you have your system setup?

I got the answer from my accountant... I'd set it up incorrectly before.
