Help me figure out this transaction

Post by stpaulser »

Help me figure out this transaction …
All transactions from the same fund, 01.
I want to transfer $1400 from the savings to the general checking.
I then want it to show up in the Gen Misc Pass Thru account so I can write a check from general checking for $1400 to come out of the Gen Misc Pass Thru.

Is the 'pass thru' a liability account? Are these funds already accounted for there? Where did these funds originally come from?

Yes the pass-thru is a liability account.
No, the funds are not accounted for there yet.
The funds are coming from the savings account and are not designated for any particular purpose.

The issue is that the funds are NOT a pass-thru. Pass-thru accounts are used when funds come in that are to go to a third-party. Like a collection for the Gideons. These funds are funds that the church at one time listed as income so they should be shown as a normal expense.
