The church is in the process of setting up a 403b for the pastor. The first voluntary contribution is supposed to come out of the April 1 payroll. I read through how to set it up and didn't think it would be a problem. I should have known it wouldn't work that easily!
I went into payroll and created an item code for this:
403b Retirement account
Other deductions
Liability account 01-2280-000
Retirement Deduction Code E
It does not allow me to chose a flat amount. Gross wage % is shaded grey in that set up box.
When I go to the pastor's payroll account, it is not letting me add this as a deduction to the paycheck. It is not even showing up as an option.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
I'm not sure how to move forward and get this set up correctly. We are running the most recent version of power church.

Re: creating 403b withdrawl
When you go to add the item to the pastor's pay items, are you using the Item Type drop-down to bring up the list of Other deductions? It should show up in that list and when you select it, it allows you to set up a deduction as % or dollar amount. Just a thought.

Just checking. Is this an employee contribution? If so, is this pre-tax ? That also has a bearing on what is done.gospeltab wrote:That works! Thank you so much for the help!

This is an employee, pre-tax contribution. I did figure out how to enter it and post correctly!

Good. It can be confusing the first time.
