"Fund Balance" out of balance

Post by CUUCSW »

My "Fund Balance" is out of balance for a few funds.
For example: Fund 03 is short by $.02. Meanwhile, Fund 01 is over by $.02. How can I rectify this?
Below is the Balance Sheet for Fund 03:

ASSETS 1000
CURRENT ASSETS 1100
BANK ACCOUNTS 1110
CHECKING ACCOUNTS 1120
1ST BANK-Checking 1122 $9,456.53

TOTAL ASSETS $9,456.53

NET ASSETS 3000
Fund Balance 3200 $9,456.51

TOTAL FUND BALANCE 9,456.51

TOTAL LIABILITIES AND FUND BALANCE $9,456.51

Thank you!

Well, the easy fix is to debit the fund balance account that is over by 2 cents, and credit the account that's short by 2 cents. You'll get a message about two accounting funds being used, but accept that and it should then balance out.

The question is how that happened.
