2005 W-2 and W-3 Statements
I am using PowerChurch v9 to print W-2's and W-3 this year. It printed the W-2's great with very little adjustment. However, when it prints the W-3 several fields do not line up correctly. I was able to figure out how to adjust the W-2, but is there a way to adjust the W-3? I made adjustments to the layout, but it did not make any changes to the layout on the W-3. I have until 02/28/06 to file the W-3, so I have a little bit of time to figure this out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

When you say you made adjustments to the layout of the W2, did you do that using the built in utility (the arrow keys), or did you actually edit the layout in the report designer? If the latter is the case, you can do the same thing with the W3. The file you need to edit is w3f12432 if you're using the laser forms.
If that's not what you're talking about, but you have experience in the report designer from Custom Reports, you can take the following steps to edit your form.
1) Make a backup of your existing w3 form. Actually, it probably wouldn't hurt to copy your entire Layout directory (inside PCPLUS9) for safekeeping.
2) Utilities -> Database Manager
3) type the following:
4) You will get a file picker dialog box. Go into the Layout directory and pick the w3f12432 file.
5) The file will load into the report designer, and you can move the fields around as you need to. For more information on the report designer, consult the v9 manual - ppg: 368-378.
6) Save the file, and try to run another on plain paper, then see if the fields line up that way.
You will likely need a couple of tries to get it right. Repeat 2 - 6 as necessary.
If none of that makes any sense, then forget I said it.

I am able to open the W3 in the Report Designer, however I am not able to select the individual fields on the report. It appears that all the fields are acting as one object, in which I can move all of them. However, I need to move some of them individually. I have experience with some report design programs, but have not yet used the one supplied with PC. How do I only select one field to relocate?
