Yesterday, Feb 2, I was Reconciling January when I had a thought: I always change the working month to the month I am Reconciling but is this necessary?

Since I enter the bank statement date, does it matter which month is open to Reconcile?

It does not. The only thing that matters is you can't skip a month when reconciling - you have to go in order.
