My balance sheet is 40 less then my liabilities? How do I check for that error? Last month it was equal but now I’m unsure how to check and to fix? Can anyone help?

The Balance Sheet only contains transactions made up to the end of the month. I suspect that the transaction that added funds to the liability was after the 28th of Feb. The other alternative is that it has not been posted, so try checking the 'include unposted transactions' box on the report options.
