We are a Canadian church of about 800 families, and have been a happy Power Church user for about 6 years. We have used almost everything except the fund accounting module. We use QuickBooks for the accounting system, with all contributions and pledges recorded in Power Church. Recently, our new auditors have recomemnded that we replace PC and QB with a product called ACS.

Does PC handle restricted fund accounting (Canadian)? Does anyone know of a comparison between PC and ACS? Many thanks in advance

FWIW ... ACS is much more expensive.

We did a comparison of all the available church management packages back in 2000. PC+ was on version 7. The reason we went with PC+ was because:

1. Ease of use - no special codes or training really required for use
2. Complete integration of modules (Membership & Contributions) (Contributions posting directly to Funds Accounting).
3. Price .. hundreds of dollars (US) less.
4. Great online support, from PC+ staff and users like me.

Version 9.0 of PC+ does handle restricted funds very easily, and are easy to setup. If the auditors are worried about restricted funds, they may not know that PC+ handles those now.
