Bank Reconciliation

Post by lthayer »

I made a mistake in my bank reconciliation and without even thinking about it I hit the finish. Don't ask me why? I was running late and not thinking. Anyway, I put in the bank balance for the last months bank statement instead of the current months balance. Now my bank reconciliation is off. Is there a way to fix it? Thanks.

What version of PC+ are you using?

Sorry I forgot to mention that. I'm using version 9.

Rerun the bank reconciliation, using the current month's ending bank statement balance. You will then need to carefully compare the outstanding deposits and checks in PC+ to what's on the bank statement and reconcile the items that match in PC+. For items on the bank statement that don't match you will need to determine if they were previously input into PC+ and reconciled. To do this run the Check Register report in Fund Accounting for the past few months and review. Any items that you previously input and reconciled will show up on the report with an indicator in the "Recon" colum of "Y". Hopefully, once you have accounted for and reconciled the checks and deposits shown on the current statement to PC+ you will be back in balance.
