How to remove Accounts Receivable completely?

We are long-time users of PC+, currently using v8.5. Many years ago, I think when the "account receivable and sales tax receivable" feature was initially added, the bookkeeper at the time experiemented with it and some $$ figure was entered. Since then I've tried to delete it to no avail. The account numbers and $$ are no longer in the Chart of Accounts or any Account Activities, but still shows up (with no $$ figure) on the Balance Sheet. I have tried deleting all AR customers, payment data, etc. and reindexing, but it still is on the Balance Sheet printout.
We have never really used this feature and would like to permanently remove it from the data sheets. Is there a way this can be done?
