I am new to using powerchurch and accounting. In other words I am learning by trial and error it seems.

Our church year runs from Sept. to August. While posting contributions in fund accounting at the beginning of 2004 I forgot to change the year. So now I have the first three Sunday contributions listed in January of 2003. How do I correct this or is it correctable :?: Help!! Help!!
Please use layman's terms for this greenhorn.

You have two options. The first option would be to enter reversing entries for each contribution. For that, you'd enter a contribution with the same date, envelope number, fund number, and a negative for the full amount of that particular entry. When posted, this would wipe out the original and allow you to reenter it properly.

I can hear you cringing at the thought of doing that for 3 days worth of postings, so here's option two:

First, make a backup. Then, under the contributions menu, select the option to Delete Old Data. This will allow you to delete all contribution entries for a specified date range. This assumes you don't have any contributions you actually want to keep for those dates in 2003. If that's the case, this will get rid of them all so you can reenter for the appropriate dates in 2004.

In either case, you probably will want to choose the option "Update Contributions Module Only" when posting. Fund Accounting doesn't care about the calendar date, just the Accounting Month, so it's going to be ok in Fund Accounting.
