I use v9 with XP and have been using PC for about two years. I did not set up PC and learned from previous person. I have to advance a new employee two months salary. Can anyone tell me how to do this in PowerChurch? I noticed that we have an asset account for advances to employees but can't see that it has been used. Please explain simply.
Thank you so much.

You can write the advance pay check against the asset account that is set up. Then, you will need to have the employee record in payroll set up with a deduction (after taxes) that goes against that account. For the next two months, you would write a payroll check that would actually have a total of zero. That way your payroill records will be correct.
You have to be sure the advance check is figured based on what the NET checks will be after taxes are taken out (assuming this is an employee who has taxes withheld.)
e.g. 2 months of NET pay is $2000 Each check for the 2 months would be total compensation minus taxes (if applicable) minus $1000. This should equal zero each month.
