manual check doesn't appear in bank reconciliation

Post by spc.office »

I created a manual check and posted the transaction, but the check doesn't appear on the bank reconciliation. It appears in all other reports. How can I correct this?

Check two things;

1. Check the DATE of the manual check to make sure that it falls within the time of the reconciliation. I'm presupposing here that it shows up as an EFT or such on the checking account statement.

2. Check to make sure the correct Bank (CREDIT) account was used.

In either case if you find that's the issue, VOID and REISSUE the manual check in Accounts Payable, using the correct date and/or account and then POST the VOID and the replacement to Funds Accounting, then POST in Funds Accounting.

As always, I recommend doing a back of the Accounting files using the Powerchurch backup utility so you can revert if needs be.

OK ... what was the original cause of the issue?
