Restricted account close to...

I've got myself confused - when I set up a donor restricted account where does the expense account close to? For instance I have our Basketball Program set up as donor restricted 3225-225 - Equity, 4225-225 - Income, 4825-225 - release. The income and release are closing to 3225-225. The expense account is 6825-000 but does it close to 3225-225?

All expense accounts should close to the unrestricted equity account. When you release the money the release account will take care of reducing the restricted equity account.
