Import

Post by taxwright »

I'm new to PowerChurch so this is clearly a newbie question.

Is there some way to have bank feed information automatically added to PC? I'm more familiar with QuickBooks online bank and credit card feeds which allow the user to review each transaction as they come in and apply them to the proper account. Is there a similar facility in PC, or in an add-on?

There isn't a way to have that info automatically import from the bank.

Officially, there is an Import Accounting Transactions feature in PowerChurch Plus under Accounting > Fund Accounting > Setup, but it is designed to import transactions created by PowerChurch Plus. It is expecting double entry account information in the file import. Manually modifying things to import properly outside the software would probably be more work than just keying the transactions in from scratch.

Details from the manual are below.

- The file must be in a text format (comma separated or tab delimited).
- The header record must be the first line and must contain the names of the fields in the order they appear in the following layout:

Check number: Check number or reference number
Batch Date: Format: mm/dd/yy
Memo: Transaction description, 25 characters maximum
Account number: Format: FFMMMMSSS Note: Do not use hyphens
Debit amount: Format: #########9.99
Credit amount: Format: #########9.99

The first three fields would be repeated on each transaction line, with an account number and debit or credit amount. Each transaction would have a minimum of two lines in the file.
