Group account number transaction

We have a dollar amount in our 00-3000-000 "Fund Balance" Group account that we need to transfer to our 00-3001-001 Detail account. I'm not at all sure how this happened, it dates back a number of years to a previous version of PowerChurch that must have either allowed entry into a group account or allow year end closing figures to be posted there.

The first Trial Balance that I have that shows figures in the group account is from our 2002 year end. (I'm sure it dates back further than that, but an archival Trial Balance wasn't kept before then.) The figure in the account changed in both 2003 and 2004, but has remained at a constant $32,636.14 since then.

As I said before, we've been dealing with this for a number of years now, but our CPA has now told me that I must move that $32,636.14 into the detail account in order to consolidate the fund balance. But, as you know, the software no longer allows transactions in group accounts. Is there someway to temporarily go around this restriction so the figures can be consolidated? :?

I should probably mention that we are using Version 10.4 and ran the maintenance release that came out on 2/8.

I don't know if this will work or not but try combining the two accounts using Maintain Chart of Accounts.

Hi, thanks for your response! I looked for a way to combine the accounts and found the "Move Account" button on the Detail Account within Maintain Chart of Accounts, but that is not available on the Group Account. I need to move the sum that is currently in the Group Account into the Detail Account, so I don't think that option will work. :cry:
Any other ideas will be greatly appreciated!!!

You are going to need to contact support by phone to move the balance. There is not a way to do it directly through the program.
