Fund acct balance

Post by carlita »

I need help! I am relatively new to PC and one of my fund acct balances is wrong. When I issued the check, I debited the fund balance account rather than the expense account and credited the checking account. That month is now closed. So now, the expense account is understated and the fund balance is overstated. The checking account is correct. I tried posting a transaction in Fund Accounting where I debited the expense account and credited the fund balance, but the fund balance acct did not change. I've tried numerous other things that have not worked... fortunately I had just made a backup so I can keep restoring!

The fund balance wouldn't actually change after the transaction you listed, because the Expense account updates (closes to) the Fund Balance automatically.

After the combination of the two transactions, your checking and fund balance *should* be correct.
