Importing and Exporting

Post by evergreen »

I need to re-create a company, but first I would like to export all the data from the old company, and then import into the new company. Does anyone know of a easy way to do this

The easiest way is to create the new Vendor then go to Accounts Payable > Reassign Vendor ID and change the old vendor ID to the new one. This will move all the data assigned to old ID to the new one.

Thanks, but I guess I wasn't clear enough. I wanted to start a new company but didn't want to recreate the Chart of Accounts, Vendors/Customers or Posted transactions. Therefore, I was looking for a easier way to export these and just import them back into the new company I created.

Ahhhh, "company" in the QuickBooks sense.

As long as the company that you are creating is the church or organization that purchased the software, there shouldn't be a license violation to worry about.

You can make an Accounting Files backup from the Utilities > Backup & Restore Files menu. Restore it into the new installation of PowerChurch Plus.
