2009 Accounting Setup

Our Leadership Team is reviewing our current chart of accounts and is making changes for 2009. Is there a way that I can start setting up a new chart of accounts before I have closed the books for 2008?

I do not believe that there is a way of doing this, without wiping all your previous data and current accounts.
