I am new to Powerchurch and I have, oh so many, questions. To start, at the end of every month our church chooses to move 1% of the unrestricted monthly contributions to several restricted funds. For instance, we contribute 1% to our benevolence account. I have an expense account set up to pay from and also an equity account to receive it but how do I do it?

I am just a volunteer who has been using excel spreadsheets. I feel like I've been riding a bicycle and now I am trying to drive a Winnebago.

Without seeing how you have your chart of accounts and accounting funds set up it is hard to advise you on how to do this. If you can provide some more details (e.g. accounts, debit/credit entries you're thinking you need to make, dollar amounts, etc) that would be very helpful in answering your question.
