accounting - last year entries

We purchased PowerChurch last year, but have only used the contribution side. I was told to set up the accounting side this year and start with Jan2008 and entered all the transactions. Is it possible to start setup with 2008 entries?

In the current version, (and possibly earlier versions) you can choose what month you want to start in.

Do you really want to enter a whole year's worth of transactions? I guess it would be reasonable if the number of transactions was few. I certainly wouldn't want to do that for our church simply because of the overwhleming number of transactions that entails.
