Can I "Set up" Fund Accounting Using a Restore?

Post by PCGranna »

Our church is in preliminary stages of combining offsite Accounting and Contributions Modules with our on-site Membership, etc. Modules. Is it possible to simply restore the Accounting Module from the offsite system to the on-site membership system? Or do we have to go through the Accounting Setup again on the Membership System before restoring the Accounting data from the offsite system?

Thanks for your help!!

You can probably restore the accounting module without a problem as it does not interface with any of the Membership or even the Contributions module directly.

However, before you restore the contributions module, you have to make sure that all the Current Personal Profiles have the correct envelope number as setup in the 'off site' Contributions module.

Once that is done, you can probably restore the Contributions data.

Remember, when you do the backups, just do one for Accounting Only, then one for Contributions Only.

Also, the 'offiste' and the main Powerchurch programs MUST be the same version or else they will not restore. If either one is a lower version of Powerchurch, the one with the lower version must be brought up to the higher version first.

Hope this helps.
